What will my bill look like if I change my plan?
If you’re simply upgrading your existing plan, e.g. changing your data cap or signing up for new add-ons, then the changes will just take effect from the next billing period.
If you’re changing your plan type altogether e.g. moving from ADSL to Fibre, then you will see the following on your bill:
- A refund for your current plan for the period from the changeover date – this is because you've prepaid this part already.
- A part month charge for your new plan from the changeover date along with the base charge for the next period (as per normal).
- Any data used until the changeover date will fit within a partial month data cap, based on the portion of the month from the changeover date.
- Any data used from the changeover date to the bill date will fit within a partial month data cap, based on the portion of the month left from the changeover date.
Maybe an example will help just say we bill you on the 23rd of a month; so if you started on a $50 a month plan with a 15GB data cap, and changed to a $75 a month plan with a 30GB data cap, with a changeover set for 15th of the month you will see the following:
- A refund of 8 days’ worth of the old plan ($50/30x8 days = $13.33CR)
- A charge of 8 days’ worth of the new plan ($75/30x8 days = $20.00), as well as the charge of $75 for the next month’s plan.
- Your data cap before the changeover is 22 days’ worth (15GB/30x22 days = 11GB)
- Your data cap between the changeover and the next billing period is 8 days’ worth (30GB/30x8 days = 8 GB)
