You will receive reminders via SMS as it gets closer to your booked SIM swap date.
We will send your new SIM card to your confirmed address (via courier) seven (7) days before you are booked to swap SIM cards.
On the day of SIM swap, you will receive a SMS notification when it's time to remove your old SIM card and replace it with your new SIM card (only do so when you receive the notification).
Yes, you can! Up to seven (7) days prior to your SIM swap date, go to orcon.net.nz/simswap and update your details there.
We’ll send you a lot of reminders closer to the time, so hopefully this doesn’t happen, but if you miss your SIM swap date, you will need to find and swap your SIM card as soon as possible to regain your mobile service.
Your current SIM will stop working after your SIM swap date and you’ll need to put in your new one to continue receiving mobile service.

You can “snooze” your SIM swap for up to 72 hours which pushes it back up to three (3) days. Go to orcon.net.nz/simswap to pick a date and time that suits, up to 72 hours away.
If you’re a few days out from your SIM swap date and your SIM card still hasn’t arrived:
- Check your track and trace link: This can be found either in your tracking email or by logging into the online portal.
- Extend your swap: Log into orcon.net.nz/simswap, and select ‘Choose a different date and time.’ You can then choose a time that is up to 72 hours from your booked SIM swap date.
If your SIM shows as delivered, but you’ve either not received it or lost it:
- Go to any 2degrees retail store with valid photo ID and grab a new SIM from them. They will be able to help swap your SIM too.
- Email us asap to organise a new SIM at firstname.lastname@example.org.
