Most of our plans are staying the same, so in this case, you won’t notice anything different about your plan data, texts and calls. There are a handful of plans that have changed slightly, we sent details of your new plan and updated terms and conditions in the emails we’ve sent you, so you should have a record there. Otherwise, log in to My Orcon and you’ll see your plan details displayed in there too.
There are some changes to roaming and casual rates on your new plan, you can read more about these below.
It’s important to note that when you swap your SIM card and move to your new plan, any existing Carryover Data or Minutes you have stacked up on your account will be lost.
Don’t worry though, we’ve got you covered. When you swap your SIM card you’ll get a whopping 100GB of NZ Carryover Data for free, so that’ll be a nice cherry on top of your new monthly plan. 100GB valid for 12 months. Full promo terms can be found below.

Yes, once you swap your SIM you can use your Orcon plan for just $8/day in over 100 destinations worldwide. We also have Roaming Data Add-ons for faraway places. You don’t need to switch anything on or fiddle with settings. Get off the plane and it just works so you can get on with your trip.
Please note – your phone will automatically trigger the $8/day roaming when you use data, send a text, or make a call whilst overseas.
-
If you don’t want to incur any additional roaming charges whilst overseas, put your phone in flight-mode and connect to local WiFi where available. You could also switch off your mobile phone completely.
-
Your bill will look the same as it did before, but you’ll see that you’re only charged one monthly mobile charge now, which works out better for you! If you were advised of any changes to your mobile plan, these will be reflected on your bill too.

We just need to make you aware of a small change to the way your mobile data usage is calculated.
After you swap your SIM card, your minimum data session will change from 10KB to 46.08KB.
What does this mean for you, you ask? Great question. It’s likely you won’t notice any difference. In a nutshell, the smallest amount of mobile data you can use is increasing, ever so marginally, so you may notice you use slightly more data over time.
It’s such a small amount of data, for example, 1MB of data has 1000KBs, so we’re talking really small here.
-
When you swap your SIM, the casual rate for making calls to NZ and Australia will change to $0.69/m.
You can see all your new standard calling rates on the 2degrees website here.
-
As you’re moving to a new plan when you change your SIM, there are some changes you can expect. Don’t worry, they’re mostly great changes. We’ve updated our Terms and Conditions to reflect these.
Please be aware that by confirming your SIM swap activation date, you agree to these new plan terms and conditions which you can read here.
