You need to swap your Orcon Mobile SIM card as your current one will no longer work after 31 July 2023.
By swapping your SIM card, you’ll get on to the fantastic 2degrees mobile network. We’ve spent over 1 billion dollars on it, to help cover 98.5% of the places Kiwis live and work. Because we’re on the same team now, to keep your mobile service running, we will be switching your mobile number over to the network powered by 2degrees.
Don’t worry, you’ll still be a Orcon Mobile customer and your largely how you use your phone today won’t change.
-
We will apply 100GB NZ Carryover data to your account upon successful completion of your SIM swap. The 100GB is valid for 12 months. Full promo T&Cs can be found below.
Any monthly data allowances will continue to be applied. Data packs nearest to expiry will be consumed first. You will be able to view data balances any time via My Orcon Mobile.
-
In most cases your plan will remain the same or may come with more data and calling. There may also be some changes to your monthly charge. You can see a summary of any changes in the email we sent you.
After you swap your SIM, your mobile plan will only be charged once a month (just like Orcon broadband) instead of every 30 days, which makes thing nice and simple and works out better for you.
Your mobile plan will renew on your billing date after you swap your SIM.
-
Unfortunately, once you’ve swapped your SIM card, you’ll need to re-set up your voicemail and you will no longer be able to retrieve any past voicemails. We recommend saving any important voicemails before swapping your SIM card. You will also need to set a new greeting as your current one will not be saved.
-
Yes, from now on you’ll need to use 202 to access your voicemail. When you first swap, you will need to re-setup your inbox and set a new greeting.
And don’t worry when you hear the ‘Welcome to 2degrees voicemail’ greeting each time you call 202. You’re in the right place.
It’s just that once you’ve swapped your SIM, not only will your mobile be powered by the 2degrees network, but you’ll also start sharing the same great voicemail service that 2degrees customers use.
-
Don’t worry, you’ll keep the broadband discount you currently receive for having both Mobile and Broadband with Orcon.
-
Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to log in to your My Orcon Mobile to check your balances, usage, change your plan and buy extras. Log in to My Orcon and click on the Mobile tab in the menu.

No, you’ll keep the same mobile number you have today.

No, you’ll still be a Orcon Mobile customer and will be charged on your Orcon bill, just as you are today. The difference is that we’ll be delivering your mobile service over the 2degrees network.
